Introduction to Christian PolygynyThe goal of this page is for you to be able to find some Biblical teachings concerning the truth of Scriptural Polygamy. There is much confusion concerning this very emotional subject. Part of this is due to the revision of history by the power of the church in the "dark ages". Apparently polygyny was much more common during the time of Christ and the early church than what has been known. We know it was common before the New Testament period, but few realize just how common. The first thing we should do is go to the dictionary for the exact meaning of polygyny. According to the Winston Simplified Dictionary, Advanced Edition, 1931 Polygyny is the practice of having more than one wife at the same time: a form of polygamy: opposite of polyandry. This page is not about the unscriptural practice of polyandry! Polyandry would be confusion and adulteration coming under the seventh commandment. Let's look at it's definition from the same source dictionary. Polyandry: the practice of having more than one husband at the same time: a form of polygamy: opposite of polygyny. So that there is no confusion this page will be talking only about marriage that is lawful before YHVH our God. He is the God of Abraham, Jacob (Israel) and David all who were blessed by God with more than one wife. You may learn why some women "hate and dread" the idea of monogomy. If you are not a Christian with Christ as your head and King, with His Law as your rule and guide, then you should only read this page for informational purposes. I should also mention that this page is written from the standpoint that the Anglo-Saxon, Germanic, Celtic, Scandinavian and kindred peoples are the true descendants of Biblical Israel. Please spend a few minutes and read Christian Israel.org to find out just what that means. This page is an active study. Tim Feel free to send your helpful comments.
